Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the direct and indirect relationships among anger suppression, moral disengagement, and cyber aggression, and to test whether moral disengagement mediates the relationship between anger suppression and cyber aggression. To examine this, total number of 391 adults were collected via online and completed self-report questionnaires (STAXI-K, The Civic Moral Disengagement Scale, and Cyber Aggression scale). The final data was collected from 389 adults with a mean age of 25.92(SD=7.39). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the model. The finding provides evidence of positive correlation between anger suppression and moral disengagement, and between moral disengagement and cyber aggression(both anonymous and non-anonymous). Results also showed that the indirect effect of anger suppression on cyber aggression(anonymous) completely mediated by moral disengagement. Further, cyber aggression in both non-anonymous and anonymous context was more prevalent among male adults. Therefore, to help adults¡¯ emotion regulation and build healthy cyber environment, early, gender-specific prevention programs can be applied on personal and societal level. Finally, the implication and limitations of the study were discussed.
